No doubt this is a strong lock, probably overkill for where I live. If you’re in a high-theft area, this would be a great choice. Love how sturdy but also how I can stow away under seat when not using and it’s secure
I’ve been cycling for over 10 years and have gone through my fair share of locks—U-locks, cables, you name it. But nothing compares to the Yooje. This thing is a beast. The chain is thick, heavy, and clearly made of quality hardened steel. I tried cutting through an old lock with bolt cutters once just to test, and I couldn’t get past it, this chain is even tougher. It comes with a tough locking mechanism that doesn’t feel like it’s going to jam up in cold or wet weather. I’ve been locking up my bike outside every day for 4 months, including through some nasty snowstorms, and it still works like day one. Yes, it’s heavy, but that’s a good thing. It feels like it actually does something. I also appreciate the protective sleeve around the chain. It keeps my frame from getting scratched, which is a small but important detail. Bottom line: if you have a decent bike, especially an e-bike, don’t skimp on the lock.
This lock is perfect. It’s compact and I don’t believe it would be easy to hack. I use this one to secure to a post. I also use a heavy duty U-lock on the back tire, just for my peace of mind.
I bought the Yooje after upgrading to a $2,000 e-bike and realizing my old cable lock just wouldn’t cut it. The difference is night and day. This lock is clearly built to withstand serious attacks—no joke, it looks and feels like industrial equipment. It’s heavy though, but makes it seem that much more secure. I ended up buying a small pannier just to toss it in. That said, the trade-off is worth it because I know my bike’s not getting stolen when I leave it outside my office. Got 2 extra keys, and the locking mechanism feels smooth and solid. You can feel the quality when it clicks into place. If you're serious about bike security, I’d highly recommend it—just be ready to carry a little extra weight.
I live in a city where bike theft is a real problem, and after losing a bike last year, I wasn’t taking any chances this time. The Yooje is seriously tough. It's got some weight to it, but that's reassuring. The chain feels indestructible and the lock mechanism is smooth. Been using it daily for 3 months—zero issues. Highly recommend if you value your bike.
I live in downtown Toronto and bike theft here is a daily reality. I’ve had two bikes stolen in the past. The last time, the thief literally cut through my cable lock like it was spaghetti. So I did some research and found Yooje. Wasn’t sure at first, but now that I’ve been using it for 2 months, I’m convinced it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made. The lock is intimidating, and I actually like that. The thickness of the chain and the weight alone are enough to make someone think twice. But it’s not just about appearance—it really is built solid. You can tell the materials are high-grade. I also like that the fabric cover doesn’t fray or fall apart like cheaper locks I’ve used. One cool detail: the key entry point has a cover to keep dirt and water out. It’s small things like that that tell me this was designed by people who actually ride bikes in the real world.
I wanted a lock that would give me real security without costing as much as my bike. Yooje struck the perfect balance. It’s built like a tank, and the materials just feel premium like it’s made for serious use, not some cheap knockoff. I especially appreciate that the chain is long enough to lock my frame and back wheel to a bike rack, tree, or post. Some locks are too short to be practical in cities, but this one gives me flexibility. The key system hasn’t jammed once, even in wet weather, and the protective sleeve hasn’t worn down despite constant use. If you're someone who wants to lock their bike and not think about it again every five minutes, this is the lock for you.
Bought this after doing quite a bit of research into folding bike locks. The SOLD SECURE guidelines compliance was one of the main reasons I chose this one. In use it's great — folds smoothly, the bracket mount is sturdy and well-designed, and the lock clicks shut with a very satisfying solidity. Feels like something built to last years, not months. Very happy.
Good quality product. The chain is heavy-duty, you can feel it compared to cheaper locks immediately. Took off one star because I wish the chain was just slightly longer for securing to wider posts, but for standard bike racks and railings it's absolutely fine. The spare keys are a genuinely thoughtful inclusion — most brands don't bother. Would buy again.
Cambridge is full of cyclists and unfortunately full of bike thieves too. I've been using this lock for three months now and had one incident where I noticed fresh scratch marks on the chain coating when I came back to my bike — someone had clearly had a go at it. The lock was completely fine. That alone tells you everything. Worth every penny.
